Welcome to the Cochrane Big Hill Needlearts Guild

The Cochrane Big Hill Needlearts Guild (CBHNG) was founded in 2004 and is a member of the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada. Our aim is to preserve traditional techniques and promote new challenges in needlearts through education and networking. We are a non profit organization and support local charities.

The term needlearts refers to anything which uses a needle and thread in its construction and includes: cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, needlepoint, beading weaving, hardanger, blackwork, pulled thread, tatting, rug hooking, and so many more!

Meetings are held every first Wednesday of the month (September – June) at the Stitching Corner, Cochrane, Alberta at 7:00 pm., with the exception of June and December which are dinner socials. Each meeting includes a short business discussion followed by a program of Needlearts which may include: show and tell of members work, Embroiderers’ Association of Canada correspondence courses and seminars, workshops, special guest presenters.
